Trace Williams
Trace Williams, a current sophomore at Chagrin Falls High School, is in his second semester of Computer Graphics. This course incorporates the basic and intermediate teachings of how to utilize Adobe Photoshop effectively. He has shown tremendous amounts of improvement and continues to learn and grow each day in class. Further, Trace has the ability to incorporate the integral principles and lessons of Adobe Photoshop in order to create projects that are important to his own likings and hobbies. From his portfolio, one of his favorite works of art is his interpretation of an Andy Warhol portrait. The reasoning behind this is due to the process it took to make the completed piece. Trace was capable of fabricating this piece by making creative selections, edits, and color variations to a photo he captured of himself. Moreover, some of his favorite projects involved using techniques of designing certain patterns or shapes to create a viewer friendly experience. He does this by repetitively making selections of objects, implementing a variety of opposing and similar colors, and by using layer styles to create different textures, strokes, and three-dimensional environments. Even though this has been one of his first true art classes he has taken in high school, he has been able to successfully work with and produce digital art at a high level. Continually, he has had multiple pieces displayed in the 2023 Spring Art Show for Chagrin Schools. These include two different elements of design projects, the shape and color, plus the typography project which was made by layering the same word over itself to represent a chosen animal. In summary, Trace’s involvement in Computer Graphics has taught him valuable skills in the world of digital photoshop, and he would recommend the class to anyone who is interested in computer art.
